La arquitectura de los computadores modernos, donde una memoria almacena juntos datos e instrucciones que operan sobre esos datos, ha sido tradicionalmente atribuida a John von Neumann, hasta el punto de acu\u00f1arse tal arquitectura con su nombre. Desde la UDIMA se ha demostrado que el padre de dicha invenci\u00f3n no es otro que Alan Turing, que propici\u00f3 tal hallazgo mientras buscaba una forma de dar soluci\u00f3n al problema de la decidibilidad. Neumann se apropi\u00f3 de esta idea, privando a Turing de tal m\u00e9rito, hecho<br \/>\nque documentamos los autores en dicho art\u00edculo, titulado \u00abTuring and the Serendipitous Discovery of the Modern Computer\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>En palabras de los revisores de la prestigiosa revista Foundations of Science:<br \/>\n&#8211; \u201cThe authors have done a very professional and exhaustive work by an orderly and thorough reasoning of events that makes us reflect on the origins of the modern computer.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211; \u00abThe paper is very interesting, engaging and was a pleasure to read. It is also an excellent piece of research\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211; \u201cThis is an important paper which sheds new light on Turing\u2019s work, and on the early days of the computer\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alan Turing siempre fue un visionario en su tiempo, y a pesar de su incre\u00edble ingenio, fue adelantado en cada momento decisivo por sus contempor\u00e1neos en la consecuci\u00f3n de cada invento, teorema o investigaci\u00f3n.
